Event managers using the VCD to deliver virtual content or managing their App and app Website will have the ability to access the VCD or App Website admin portal once the event has been configured. Within the ‘admin’ area, event managers have the ability to do the following:

  • View statistics for the event

  • Engage with attendees using broadcast messages

  • Moderate message boards and content

  • Manage the list of attendees

  • Manage the list of sessions

  • Manage the list of companies (exhibitors/sponsors)

  • Manage and upload documents in the content hub

  • Customize custom page content

  • Customize appearance (icons, terminology, branding)

  • Build advertising campaigns

Note: For a full list of features and functionality in the VCD, please view our support article “What is the VCD?”.

Accessing the VCD or App Website as an event manager

During the initial VCD event or App configuration stages, it will be determined which event managers should have access to the ‘admin’ area. For those with access, event managers can visit the ‘admin’ area of the VCD by taking the following steps:

  1. Visit the standard link for your VCD event or App Website

  2. Amend the URL and add “/admin” at the end

  3. Visit the URL (it should look something like this: myevent.vcd-eventsforce.com/admin)

Note: If your event uses companies (exhibitors/sponsors) and allows companies to manage their own profile, please read our article titled “How can companies manage their own profile in the VCD?”.

How to test the VCD or App Website after making changes

As event managers work in the ‘admin’ area, they may want to visit the front end to test or check their updates. Event managers can quickly open the attendee facing site by clicking on the event icon in the top left hand corner.

Note: Clicking the icon opens a new window so the ‘admin’ portal is still accessible in the original window.
