Event managers can customize their attendee’s onsite experience by choosing a Kiosk mode as well as the attendee lookup method. The settings chosen will depend on whether badges need to be printed or whether check-in should be contactless.

Eventsforce Kiosk can be configured to use one of three different modes at your event:

  • Print Only - print badge only, no check-in to event

  • Check-in only - marks attendee as “Attended”, no badge printed (contactless check-in option)

  • Print & Check-in - print badge and mark attendee as “Attended”

Attendees can locate their own registration to check-in and/or print their badge by using one of the following methods:

  • Scanning their QR code (contactless option) - attendee scan a QR code provided via email

  • Lookup by Last Name

  • Lookup by Ticket Number

Note: If “Use QR code” is disabled, attendees can only check-in and/or print their badge using one of the lookup methods (by ‘last name’ or ‘ticket number’).

Using QR code to check-in and/or print badge

Eventsforce recommends using a QR code as this is the quickest and most efficient method for checking in attendees on-site. QR codes also allow for attendees to check-in in rapid succession.

Selecting “Yes” will display a “Scan QR code” area on your app with the camera enabled to scan a QR code.

If the event is not allowing use of QR code, one of the ‘Attendee lookup’ options must be selected.

Attendee lookup modes

If allowed, attendees can check-in and/or print their badge by looking up their registration by “Last name” or “Ticket Number”. If attendee look up is turned “Off”, attendees can only use their QR code to check-in and/or print their badge. For a contactless process, attendee lookup should be turned “Off”.

With “Last Name”, attendees can begin typing their name on the screen and can select from the matching results.

With “Ticket Number”, attendees enter the full 6 digit ticket number associated with their registration.

Note: If using “Ticket Number” or “QR Code”, be sure to read more about how to add check-in items to an email.

Require full payment for check-in

The event manager can choose whether or not to allow “unpaid” and “partly paid” attendees to check-in on-site. This may be useful in situations where payment is collected after the event. This setting can be found in the ‘Advanced Settings’ panel at the bottom of the “Kiosk Settings” page.

By selecting “No”, attendees can check-in on-site even if their registration is not fully “paid”.

By selecting “Yes”, only fully “paid” attendees can check-in on-site.
