Within an abstract event, event managers can allow submitters to amend their abstracts, even after submitted. Front end amendments are only allowed within the specified amendment dates found on the Abstract > Setup > Settings page.

Event managers will always have the ability to amend abstract submissions from the admin portal. A common change made to abstracts is changing the topic of a submitted abstract.

Editing an abstract submission

  1. Go to Abstracts > Management > Submissions

  2. Locate the submission by using the filters and 'Search' box

  3. Select the 'Edit' icon to the right of the submission OR double click the submission

  4. Make amendments to the submission details as needed

  5. To edit custom abstract questions, click "Edit" at the top of the popup window

  6. Make amendments as needed and click "Save"

  7.  Click "Save"

Note: Custom abstract questions can only be seen and edited by clicking “Edit” in the ‘View Abstract Document’ popup window.

Note: Submitters are not notified of any changes made to their submissions by event managers. You may want to send an ad hoc email to submitters informing them changes were made.

Changing the topic of an abstract submission

Once an abstract has been submitted, the submitter is unable to change the topic the abstract was submitted into. The submitter must delete the abstract and submit a new abstract in the new topic.

Event managers have the ability to change a topic of an abstract from the admin portal. This can be done for one or multiple abstracts in bulk. To change the topic of an abstract, take the following steps:

  1. Go to Abstracts > Management > Submissions

  2. Locate and select the submission(s) you want to update

  3. Select the ‘Tools’ dropdown and select “Change topic...”

  4. Select the new topic from the dropdown box

  5. Click “Save”

Note: You can also change the topic by double clicking on a submission from the Abstracts > Management > Submissions page. Choose a new topic from the ‘Topic’ dropdown and click “Save”.
